Additional Supports & Resources

At United Way of Greater Charlottesville, we aim to help make our community a place where all families can thrive. Our programming and areas of impact focus on Financial Services, early Childcare & Education Services, and Community Involvement and Connections. We know these do not address all local needs; below are other resources and organizations in our area offering support.

  • Homeless Information Line (HIL)

You could be eligible for rental assistance through the Haven if you are at risk of needing to stay in a shelter within the next 14 days or are currently homeless (living on the street, in an emergency shelter, in a vehicle, or another place not intended for habitation). You must call the HIL to determine eligibility. They may refer you to other shelters and partners for additional resources. Please call (434) 207-2328 if you are experiencing homelessness or need help finding services. Messages are usually returned within 24-48 hours.
