Through collective and strategic giving and thoughtful action, Women United empowers and uplifts organizations supporting women and children in the Greater Charlottesville community. Each year, we bring this mission to life through our work, including our core grantmaking program, the Human Services Grant Awards. Through this grant, we give thousands of dollars to local nonprofits that help women and children.

Our Story
Founded in 2005, Women United was created to foster women’s philanthropy while supporting the Greater Charlottesville region by addressing human service needs through collective donations. Each year, the group awards thousands of dollars via our Human Services Grant Awards to local nonprofits that focus on helping women and children. As a group, our members have given over $1,000,000 to local nonprofits.
We also host regular educational opportunities to help members stay informed and social gatherings to build connections and foster new opportunities for future philanthropy.
