Early Ed Symposium
The Early Ed Symposium is conducted annually to provide high-quality professional development to public and private early education teachers, administrators and classroom assistants. It also serves as a celebration to recognize the service of early childhood educators.
This year’s Early Ed Symposium is being held via Zoom, on Thursday, June 25, 2020. We’re thrilled to have an expert lineup of panelists and speakers.

Dr. Adolph Brown
Dr. Adolph “Doc” Brown, PhD, Founder/President/CEO of The Leadership & Learning Institute, will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Brown works with schools and corporations around the world to implement best practices that support peak performance and educational excellence.

Leslie Floyd
Leslie Floyd is the Chair of Early Childhood Education and an Associate Professor for Bluefield College in Bluefield, VA. She has served in a variety of positions including as a Preschool Teacher and Monitoring and Compliance Coordinator for Early Head Start Partnerships for Total Action for Progress’ Head Start/ Early Head Start Program.

Ashley Wood
Ashley Wood is a Senior Trauma Counselor at ReadyKids in Charlottesville, VA, where she provides counseling to children who have experienced traumatic events such as abuse, neglect and exposure to domestic violence.

Jenna Conway
Jenna Lawrence Conway is the Chief School Readiness Officer for the Commonwealth of Virginia, a joint appointment between the Governor’s Office and the Virginia Department of Education. Her goal is to work with public and private partners across the Commonwealth to unify the early childhood care and education system to help prepare all Virginia children for kindergarten.
