The 32nd Annual United Way Laurence E. Richardson Day of Caring has come and gone, but we’re still reminiscing about all that was accomplished on this important day of service, positive impact, unity, and connection. Together, we were able to provide over $270,000 worth of value in volunteer time and labor to local projects around the Greater Charlottesville area. That’s over a quarter of a million dollars in donated service directly to our community–all thanks to our volunteers, sponsors, and community partners! Don’t believe us? See for yourself — click here to view the photos we took during Day of Caring!
We had over 1,700 volunteers sign up to help at over 100 different community projects this year. This was the largest number of volunteers we’ve had post-pandemic, and we couldn’t be more proud. From the bottom of our hearts at United Way of Greater Charlottesville, thank you to everyone who played a part in this event, especially our 2023 event sponsors:
- University of Virginia
- Woodard Properties
- Hourigan
