This month, participants in the ELCL program began their paid training on their way to becoming much-needed licensed early childhood educators!

This week, we kicked off our Early Learning Career Launch (ELCL) program (formally, Pathways to Success: Early Childhood Educator Training Program with UVA Pipelines and Pathways) with our first cohort of future early childhood educators at the Center for Community Partnerships at UVA. This program offers participants paid training and state-required licensing that are necessary to begin working as an early childhood educator.

Over the next several weeks, participants in the ELCL program will work to build essential skills, gain foundational early childhood knowledge, and transition into the ECE workforce. The first day concluded with a valuable opportunity for candidates to connect with potential employers, including Bright Horizons and the Piedmont YMCA Early Learning Center.

A special thank you to our partners at UVA’s Pipelines and Pathways for collaborating on this project, and to Tour of Faith Mobile for supporting participants with professional attire for interviews and workplace success.

Together, we are growing the early education workforce and supporting strong starts for children across our region. We can’t wait to see participants’ success upon completing this program!
