Minority Business Enterprise Envision Grant Opportunity

An initiative of the United Way of Greater Charlottesville and Supported by the City of Charlottesville Office of Economic Development and Albemarle County Office of Economic Development

The United Way of Greater Charlottesville (UWGC) is pleased to announce the inaugural round of ENVISION Grants for small, minority-owned businesses, supported by the City of Charlottesville Office Economic Development and the Albemarle County Office of Economic Development. A total of up to $140,000 may be awarded in grant amounts of up to $10,000.

Minority-owned businesses are invited to apply for this grant which is intended to increase the capacity of established businesses. The goal is to provide support to entrepreneurs who often lack access to capital to expand and grow their businesses, add employees and increase the tax base for a more prosperous community. 

Successful applicants will be required to sign a grant agreement outlining the grant terms and conditions prior to receiving the funds.

Applications must be submitted electronically. Applicants will be required to upload documents in this online application, answer the application questions and sign and submit. Applicants may start and save the application and return to complete it later.

Applications must be received no later than 12 noon, Friday, May 26, 2023. Applications not submitted by 12:00 noon sharp on Friday, May 26, 2023 will not be accepted. Applicants are responsible for ensuring the application is submitted on time. The application locks at noon and any application started and not submitted will automatically be deleted. Paper applications will not be accepted. Awardees will be notified and then announced no later than June 30, 2023.
