United Way and UVA Pipelines & Pathways are offering a paid Early Childhood Educator Training Program for those interested in kickstarting their early learning career.

Kickstart your early learning career by applying to Early Learning Career Launch (ELCL), which we offer in partnership with UVA Pipelines & Pathways‘ Pathways to Success: Early Childhood Educator Training Program. No prior experience is required! Click here to apply by Tuesday, January 27 at 5pm!

Participants will spend the month of February building essential skills and gaining foundational early childhood knowledge including child development, language and early literacy, social–emotional learning, behavior management, cognitive development, and effective family communication. All of the training in the program is paid. Additionally, participants will receive all state-required licensing and safety certifications.

Program participants will also work alongside local childcare providers to potentially receive full-time employment upon successful completion of the program. One of the graduates of the Fall 2025 ELCL cohort–of which all participants had employment offers at local childcare facilities–shared that “This program didn’t just give me information; it gave me transformation…I learned that success isn’t about being perfect it’s about being persistent.”

PROGRAM SCHEDULE

Trainings will be held Monday through Friday from 9am to 2pm from February 9, 2026 to February 27, 2026 at the UVA Human Resources Office Building. Parking is available in front of the building. UWGC will assist with parking costs.
