United Way of Greater Charlottesville is happy to kick off the inaugural event in our Envision Forum series, where we hope to create a more connected community through a deepened understanding of race and equity.
This event is meant to help us better understand how to implement DEI practices into our work and everyday lives. Hear from local leaders and experts, then stick around to have a drink and chat about what you heard. Here is the schedule of events:
· 2:00pm: Mack McLellan, “Real Life DEI Navigation”
· 3:00pm: Sly Mata, “Everybody Hurts: The Accumulating Mental Health Impact of Systemic Racism and Racial Violence”
· 4:00pm: Cynthia Murray, “Being the Only _______ in the Room”
The Envision Forum will take place on Friday, May 12 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at The Center at Belvedere. Tickets are $20 for one session or $50 for all three sessions. Purchase tickets here.
