2026 United Way Family Day of Service

2026 United Way Family Day of Service

Join us to help make a positive impact on families in our region by volunteering at the 2026 United Way Family Day of Service. This event, cohosted with Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital and Women United, with support from Albemarle County, Shenandoah Joe, and Book Baskets. It is taking place on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 10am to 12pm at the Albemarle High School Gymnasium. All are welcome to volunteer, including children!

Volunteers will be assembling support kits for to help local families in need thrive. Kits will include laundry detergent, oral health supplies, kids’ supplies, and more.

This volunteer project is open to kids and will feature a dedicated child-friendly project for those who wish to complete it in place of kit assembly! This project will involve preparing special seed packets for the children and families receiving the kits. We encourage you to volunteer as a family–bring your little one(s) and demonstrate the spirit of community service and helping one another!

Can’t make it in person but would like to contribute? We are accepting monetary donations to help support this community service effort. Donations are very much appreciated and will go towards supplies and/or sustenance to help volunteers build more kits!

Interested in helping to sponsor the event? Reach out to Ben Wilkes at bwilkes@unitedwaycville.org to discuss more ways to help!

We hope to see you there!
