The 33rd Annual Laurence E. Richardson Day of Caring will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 and presented by Sentara. All volunteers, project hosts, and community members are welcome at the Kickoff Breakfast, taking place at the Outpatient Care Center at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital from 8am to 9am on September 18th. We will also announce the 2024 Caring for Community Awards honorees.
Our largest annual volunteer event, Day of Caring empowers volunteer groups from across our region to come together to benefit our community. Last year, over 1,600 volunteers participated, providing an estimated $270,000 in value of service–this year we hope to exceed these numbers!
Interested in being a project site this year for volunteers? We accept projects from nonprofits, public schools, local government offices, or other tax-exempt organizations.
