Congratulations to the sixteen Level III students in the Early Learning Career Launch (ELCL( program who were recently awarded Virginia Department of Education’s (VDOE) Virginia Early Educator Scholarships! Candidates were each awarded individual scholarships totaling $18,065. This funding will go directly towards supporting the completion of their Early Childhood Development Career Studies Certificates (C.S.C).
United Way of Greater Charlottesville recently launched Level III of ELCL in partnership with Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC), which provides an opportunity for those already working as educators to advance their credentials. Level III participants are currently working in publicly funded centers serving children ages 0-5. Upon completion of the program, they will graduate with a 16-credit Early Childhood Development Career Studies Certificate (C.S.C.) from PVCC. This is an opportunity for individuals to advance their careers in meaningful ways and continue efforts to help strengthen the early childhood care and education workforce. The inaugural Level III ELCL cohort began classes this month.
This VDOE scholarship not only helps make higher education more affordable and attainable, but also directly supports individuals pursuing education and credentials in early care and education. Thank you, VDOE, for investing in the early care and education profession and helping educators advance their academic and professional careers!
