We recognize that one barrier to success for small businesses is the lack of access to affordable capital. This program is intended to provide a financial lift to the recipients as they pursue success. While a pilot in its first year, it is our desire this partnership continues in future years with increases in the number of grants and available funds.
The United Way of Greater Charlottesville funded a total of $10,000 in grants that were jointly awarded by the partners. Recognizing the support, networking, and educational opportunities the Minority Business Alliance offers its members, the United Way of Greater Charlottesville will also pay each grant recipient’s annual Minority Business Alliance dues for the two years following the grant year.
Congratulations to Vu Noodles and The Tax Ladies on receiving the inaugural Minority Business Enterprise Grants!
