The Pathways to Success: Early Childhood Educator Training Program is designed to help you get the skills needed to become an Early Childhood Educator in the Charlottesville region. This program provides 80 hours of paid training, including state required licensing, safety certifications, and workplace readiness with a child development focus. During training, participants will work with UVA Pipelines & Pathways and partnering childcare facilities to potentially obtain full-time positions upon successful completion of the program. Employer partners include Bright Horizons and the YMCA.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE
Trainings will be held Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm from October 27, 2025, to November 21, 2025 at the Center for Community Partnerships (201 West Main Street, Charlottesville). Garage validation will be provided.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma/GED
- At Least 18 Years of Age
- No Barrier Crimes
- No Experience or Licensing Required
PROGRAM INFORMATION
Participants will receive a stipend of $15/hour during training. If selected for employment after training, pay will be no less than $15/hour. Participants will continue in the ELCL program once employed for monitoring and professional development.
